Joe is a lifelong Kent County resident who brings more than three decades of hands-on land and farm management experience to his real estate practice. Raised on the same farm where he still lives today, Joe has an instinctive understanding of the Eastern Shore landscape, its agricultural heritage, conservation values, and the unique considerations that come with buying or selling rural, farm, and waterfront properties in this region.
His farm management firm has been recognized among the Top 100 in the country by Agri-Finance magazine every year since 1992, a distinction that speaks to the trust area landowners have placed in him over a long career.
Joe’s commitment to the land extends well beyond transactions. As a board member and past president of the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy, and a board member of Forever Maryland, he is a recognized voice in regional land conservation, actively involved in easement work, responsible land use, soil health initiatives, and habitat and water-quality projects across the Shore.
For buyers and sellers navigating farm acquisitions, conservation easements, land transfers, or rural estate properties, Joe offers a depth of local knowledge and professional relationships that is simply hard to match.
Joe and his wife Marianne are the parents of four adult children and grandparents of four. Their farm near Chestertown, Black Horse Flag Farm, has been the family’s anchor for generations.
